By developing a playbook that grouped similar markets together based on the combination of local grocers in their local region, I reduced our CPM while increasing relevance to the end user. The result was cutting our CPI in half, setting a new standard for how we operated, and acquiring millions of users.

The Challenge

Turn a grocery shopping and coupon app into a household name in the United States.

The Process

Understand the user's pain points and how they do their grocery shopping. Flipp appeals to coupon clippers in the suburbs willing to drive 5-20 minutes to save money on their grocery trip. It was critical to capture these data points before partnering with the proper advertising channels to reach our target users.

The Solution

By developing a playbook that grouped similar markets together based on the combination of local grocers in their local region, I reduced our CPM while increasing relevance to the end user. The result was cutting our CPI in half, setting a new standard for how we operated, and acquiring millions of users.
