The hard part was that the list was cold and has never been emailed and we had to warm up the email IPs to ensure our emails were being delivered to the inbox.
We tested a few different ERPs/email providers to find a provider that could deliver on inbox delivery and open rates. With a list of 500,000, your provider has been able to hand the workload.

Credit One Bank credit card is designed for people who are trying to rebuild their bad credit and people starting out and trying to build credit. Credit One was not a well-known consumer brand, the challenge was two-fold, One, to educate the consumer who Credit One was, and two, inform the consumer that while most credit card companies asked for too much information (TMI) when you apply for their card, Credit One only asked a few.
I started working with BodyFX (home workout programs) as they were heading into a historically slower period for the brand (Q4). They had never run "holiday" sales or messaging, instead opting to reduce spend Oct-(mid)Dec before their big Q1 push. I pitched the client on a pre-holiday strategy (promotion & messaging) for us to start testing in early November, which he approved. The campaigns were a success (within target CPA range) and we were not only able to scale the initial tests, but iterate on the messaging throughout Nov & Dec to scale consistently over the holiday period, resulting in a 129% increase in spend YoY.
